Watercolor and acrylics. This one always gets mixed reactions. I like hearing what people think about it. Ha ha!

I was inspired by a 19th lithography print depicting a family tree. An ancestor had a large trunk growing out of his stomach and became a stylized tree with the family member's portraits and pedigree information interspersed in the leaves. In this case I've turned that trunk into an umbilical cord. So I guess he's not being born yet... Whatever.

It's quite intriguing! I absolutely love the background, and the whole concept of the piece. This looks great, amazing execution with it!

Amazing, it makes you want to look, yet there is the kernel of it being a bit disturbing yet beautiful in it's own way.

Oh my this is probably one of the best I've seen in some time my friend. The concept is truly amazing, makes me think back to Oedipus for some reason as the child and mother are still connected by the cord. Your attention to the draping of the mothers dress is phenomenal also, major props!

Thank you. I haven't gotten that interpretation before! I've gotten a lot of strange ones for this picture though.

All the better right? I think the greatest of art really lets the viewer put their own interpretation for it, instead of an artists forced one.
